Hello, I am having issues with my microphone. It used to work fine about two months ago, but since then sound is not being recorded from my microphone headset. I have tested this with a different set of headphones and have the same issue. Updated drivers in device manager using "browse computer for software" then "show compatible hardware" then "high definition audio". Is it possible that the problem has something to do with there being two audio devices AMD high def audio device and high def audio device?

Ok so I got through the first and second links you provided unfortunately I don't have any restore points other than one from last night. After running the services program and restarting Windows Audio, my PC has suddenly restarted without warning four times throughout the past hour. Also, I noticed this warning:. I don't have a physical copy of windows, so I believe I need to access my hard drive, but I don't know how to do that with my limited options. These should be the first sound drivesr you try if the sound is integrated onto the motherboard or it is a factory PC.
While there check that you also have the latest chipset, BIOS, display, network, bluetooth, USB and all other drivers, compared to the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button.
